The Air Force official who leaked the classified US documents belonged to the ‘Intelligence Wing 102’ of the Air Force, which has been ordered to stop intelligence missions.
The US Air Force said in its statement that the investigation into the leaking of the documents is ongoing, so the intelligence unit should stop its work for the time being.
The statement issued by the Air Force further said that all the units of the institution will stop work on any day during the next 30 days and review all matters.
It should be noted that Air Force officer Jake Texera, who leaked classified documents, is facing charges of copying military intelligence records and releasing them online.
Air Force spokeswoman Ann Stefanik said the 102nd Intelligence Wing is not currently working on its intelligence mission.
He said that the Air Force IG will first investigate the leak of national security information by the unit.
