The Lahore High Court ordered to stop the ongoing proceedings in the Accountability Court against former Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Javed Iqbal and 20 officers.
A 2-member bench headed by Chief Justice Amir Bhatti of Lahore High Court heard the petitions of Javed Iqbal and others.
Former chairman NAB Javed Iqbal’s lawyer Safdar Shaheen Pirzada argued in the court and said that Tayyaba Gul filed baseless applications against former chairman, DG NAB Lahore and others.
He took the position that illegal proceedings are going on in several forums including the Accountability Court Lahore, character assassination is being done through baseless applications.
Lawyer Safdar Shaheen Pirzada requested that the court should issue an injunction, stopping the proceedings on Tayyaba Gul’s petitions.
After hearing the arguments of the parties, the Supreme Court ordered to stop the ongoing proceedings in the accountability court against Javed Iqbal and 20 officers, while also ordering to stop the ongoing proceedings in the police and other forums.
The court issued a notice to Tayyaba Gul and the parties and sought their response.
