Dam Fund; The decision is reserved if the petition against the Supreme Court authority is admissible

Islamabad: The hearing on the petition against the Supreme Court jurisdiction over the dam funds was held in the Islamabad High Court, in which the court reserved its decision on whether the petition was admissible or not.

Chief Justice Amir Farooq heard the request of lawyer Adnan Iqbal, in which the Chief Justice inquired that when the dam fund was being collected, why did you not object? Now it has been 5 years since the dam funds were collected. If there was an objection to the dam funds, the State Bank would have. If State Bank had any objection, the account would not have been opened.

The petitioner’s lawyer said that the Supreme Court has no authority to collect funds in this way. Speaking to the lawyer, the Chief Justice said that read the notification in full, what is in it. Lawyer Adnan Iqbal said that the current account holders are the old registrar sir, on which the Chief Justice said what happened, what is the issue.

The lawyer said, “We are asking that building a dam is the work of the executive, how is the Supreme Court looking at it?” It is a violation of Article 175 of the Constitution. There are so many pending cases in the Supreme Court, they should be looked into.

If the Chief Justice gave remarks, what is there in it, it is an administrative matter. Either you say they are investing the money in their homes. Why didn’t you petition when the collection was taking place? Why did you not object when the dam fund was being collected?

Later, the court reserved its decision on whether or not the petition was admissible.
