New Delhi: In India, Muslim Member of Parliament Muhammad Atiq was shot dead in broad daylight in front of TV cameras by assailants disguised as journalists.
According to Indian media, former Muslim Member of Parliament Muhammad Atiq is a prisoner in several cases and was brought to Motilal Hospital due to his health condition deteriorating. On this occasion, the member of the assembly was answering questions from the media when suddenly three persons attacked him.
The assailants came close to the Member of Assembly in the guise of journalists. Mohammad Ashraf, the brother of the Member of Assembly, was also injured by the firing of the attackers, who succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
The police arrested the three attackers Lulesh Tiwari, Sunny and Arun Maurya on the spot and recovered the weapons. The accused in the confessional statement said that they wanted to gain fame in the underworld by killing Muhammad Atiq.
The assailants further told the police that they had been waiting for Muhammad Atiq for a long time and planned the murder when they found out that the two would come for a medical check-up. Made fake cards of Media House.
It should be noted that Muhammad Atiq’s son Asad Ahmed was killed in a police encounter in Jhansi yesterday.
Muhammad Atiq was elected Member of Assembly from Phulpur constituency in Uttar Pradesh. More than 90 cases of murder, kidnapping for ransom and other crimes are registered against him. The assemblyman was also accused of exploiting a professor of Allahabad University in 2018.
Former MLA Mohammad Atiq was detained in Gujarat Jail under the National Security Act since 2019 along with his brother.
