Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Mufti Abdul Shakoor died in a traffic accident.
Spokesman of Islamabad Police says that Mufti Abdul Shakoor was going from Marriott to Secretariat Chowk, a vehicle hit Maulana Abdul Shakoor’s car on Shahrah Dastur.
Maulana Abdul Shakoor was shifted to Polyclinic Hospital but he could not recover.
Police say that the occupants of the vehicle that hit the Federal Minister’s vehicle were taken into custody.
Hearing the news of the accident, Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb and other federal ministers reached the Polyclinic Hospital.

Shahbaz Sharif says that Mufti Abdul Shakoor was a practical scholar, an ideological political worker and a good person.
The Prime Minister expressed sympathy and condolences to the family and all the relatives of Mufti Abdul Shakoor.
He said that Mufti Abdul Shakoor was one of the dynamic and ideological leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), he performed his duties with great diligence, sincerity and honesty as the Minister of Religious Affairs.
The Prime Minister further said that Mufti pays homage to the religious, national, national and political services of Mufti Abdul Shakur.
