Quetta: The reconstruction of the bridge collapsed in Bolan due to monsoon rains was completed in 7 months, after which the railway network of Quetta was restored from all over the country.
According to Express News, when the train service from Quetta was restored after seven months, Governor Balochistan Abdul Wali Kakar inaugurated it, after which Jafar Express left for Peshawar with 300 passengers.
A train trial mission has also been successfully completed on the newly constructed bridge under the supervision of railway officers and engineers.
The railway bridge, built during the British era, was destroyed by monsoon rains on August 25 last year. Due to the collapse of the bridge, the rail link of Balochistan was also cut off from other parts of the country.
The operation to restore the affected track and bridge began in September 2022. Rail service was partially restored from Machh railway station from November 20 last year.
After the complete restoration of the affected bridge, the Eid special train will also depart from Quetta to Rawalpindi on April 18.
