Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Maulana Abdul Shakoor made new allegations against the female officer to prevent the woman from performing Hajj.
In a statement, Minister of Religious Affairs Maulana Abdul Shakoor says that the female officer made many recommendations for DG Hajj.
He says that he also visited my house and lodges for DG Hajj, I don’t want to open my mouth about who was recommended by whom.
The religious affairs minister said that the lady also put political pressure on me, she was the only candidate in the interview list who recommended.
He has further said that this matter is in the court, the decision of the judiciary will be accepted, I am thinking of filing charges against myself and going to court for contempt.
Religious Affairs Minister Maulana Abdul Shakoor also says that my audio has been edited and leaked, the audio recording is wrong and improper practice.
Earlier, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Mufti Abdul Shakoor had denied the allegation of gender discrimination in the appointment of DG Hajj in his statement.
He said that how can I deviate from Islamic teachings and the Constitution of Pakistan? How can I influence the opinion of other senior executives participating in the interview panel?
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Mufti Abdul Shakoor said that he cannot even imagine gender discrimination against women while sitting in a constitutional position.
He had said that the rights available to women in our society are more than any other society.
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Mufti Abdul Shakoor further said that despite the baseless allegations, I respect the female officer.
He also said that the woman officer has approached the court, whatever decision the honorable court takes will be accepted, the media created a sensation by using the woman card.
