Peshawar: CCPO Peshawar says that the attacker of the Police Lines blast may have come sitting in an official vehicle.
Speaking to Express News, CCPO Mohammad Ijaz Khan said that the blast appears to be a suicide attack. The head of the alleged suicide bomber was also found at the scene. There is a possibility that the assailant may have come in an official vehicle. CTD is investigating the case.
CCPO Peshawar further said that the wall of the mosque fell down causing more damage. The hall was also damaged by fire after the explosion. The hall was old with beams while the rest of the mosque was newly built.
CCPO Peshawar said that 1,500 to 2,000 personnel come and go every day. There are offices of more than 8 units including FRP, SSU, Elite Force, CTD in Police Lines. The assailant may be already present in Police Lines. After the completion of the rescue operation, it will be known what the nature of the explosion was.
