According to sources, the IMF has asked that according to the decisions announced in the budget, the promise of keeping the budget deficit at 4.9 percent should be fulfilled.

Sources say that the IMF has asked Pakistan to fulfill its commitment to keep the primary deficit at 0.2 percent of GDP as per the budget decisions.

According to the sources, the export sector has been asked to remove the exemption of Rs 110 billion and to meet the tax collection target of Rs 7470 by FBR in all circumstances.

According to the sources, the IMF has asked that there should be a substantial reduction in the revolving debt and that the target of collecting 855 billion rupees in the form of petroleum levy should be met.

The IMF has also called for improving the efficiency of state-owned companies and closing their deficits and implementing a privatization program.

According to the sources, Pakistan is of the opinion that it will implement all the demands, but more time should be given for it.

In this regard, the sources say that Pakistan will continue the process of sustainable reforms together with the IMF

According to sources, there will be technical talks between Pakistan and IMF till February 2, policy talks will be held from February 3 to February 9.
