On the issue of election date in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PTI filed an application in Peshawar High Court, deciding not to file an appeal against the objections of the Registrar Supreme Court on its application.
PTI Leader and Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ghani has filed a writ petition in Peshawar High Court for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly elections.
In the petition of Mushtaq Ghani, the stand has been adopted that the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has given the date of October 8 for the elections, the Governor earlier announced the date of May 28 but the Election Commission did not notify it.
The petitioner has taken the position that the date of October 8 by the Governor is illegal and unconstitutional, the Supreme Court has also given a decision and the Election Commission is bound to implement it.
The petition has requested that Governor KP be ordered to give a date for the immediate election.
Election Commission, Federal and Provincial Governments, Governor KP and President of the State have been made parties in the application.
In case PTI fails to appeal to the High Court, it will be referred to the Supreme Court.
It should be noted that the registrar of the Supreme Court returned PTI’s application with objections.
Tehreek-e-Insaaf leader Shaukat Yousafzai says in this regard that the Registrar Supreme Court had returned the application with some objections.
He also says that the country is suffering from a serious crisis due to the delay in the elections, the inflation in the country has made it impossible for the people to live.
