The Election Commission will give the report regarding the money to the court today

The Election Commission will present the report to the Supreme Court today regarding the receipt of money or not.

In light of the decision of the three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Umar Attabandial, the Election Commission will file a report in the Supreme Court today regarding the provision or non-provision of funds for the May 14 elections in Punjab.

On the order of the Supreme Court, the government had to give 21 billion rupees to the Election Commission by April 10. The government asked the National Assembly for its opinion on giving the money.

The election expenditure bill has been sent to the National Assembly, the bill has been handed over to the Standing Committee by the Speaker, the National Assembly will now meet next Thursday.

It should be noted that a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Atta Bandial comprising Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan and Justice Muneeb Akhtar has declared in paragraph 5 of its order on April 4 that the federal government will spend 21 billion rupees till April 10 for the elections. It will be provided to the Election Commission.

The Election Commission was bound to file a report in the court on April 11 whether the 21 billion rupees or how much of the required amount was received or not.

The Election Commission’s report will be presented to the judges in the chamber for consideration.

The judgment of the three-judge bench further said that if the funds are not provided or less funds are provided, in such a case the court will issue orders to the concerned authority or person as appropriate.
