Karachi: A wave of concern arose among the officers when an employee who was dismissed on allegations of serious corruption was awarded the important post of Assistant Director Land in the Shaheed Ms. Benazir Bhutto Town (SMBBT) Department. According to the details, the Sindh government issued an office order on 6 May 2014 to 26 temporary employees of the department on allegations of forgery in the project of providing 50,000 free plots of 120 yards area to the homeless in 23 districts of Sindh through Martyr Benazir Bhutto Town (SMBBT). was dismissed vide No. PD/SMBBT/2014/285.

Sources say that Kaleemullah Ghungroo was hired on 10 February 2022 on a contract for 6 months, after that the contract was extended without the approval of any competent authority, including SMBBT and LDA Administration Department. Some corrupt officers played an important role.
Sources say that it is a serious violation of service rules to re-appoint a person who has been dismissed for corruption in the same post without fulfilling the legal requirements.
Interestingly, Kaleemullah Ghungroo has been promoted to the key post of Assistant Director Land with a further 200% increase in the salary he was recruited before being sacked.
The senior officers of the organization are very worried about the current situation and they have demanded immediate notice from the anti-corruption and other investigative agencies including the Local Government Minister and an impartial investigation on the allegations of illegal recruitment and corruption against Kaleemullah Ghungroo. .
