Karachi: The Election Commission has extended the date of supplementary municipal elections in 26 districts of Sindh, including Karachi Division, due to the last decade of Ramadan.
The Election Commission has extended the date of the by-elections from April 18 to May 7.
According to the Election Commission, political parties had also submitted an application to advance the date of the elections. In view of this, the polling for the first and second phase of the supplementary local body elections in 26 districts of Sindh will now be held on Sunday, May 7, instead of Tuesday, April 18.
It should be remembered that elections are to be held on 93 seats of various categories in Sindh, elections are scheduled for 11 seats of chairman and vice chairman in Karachi due to the death of candidates.
