Islamabad: ANF ​​recovered hundreds of kilos of drugs during a major operation in the mountains of Balochistan.

According to the spokesman of the Anti-Narcotics Force, 820 kg of opium was recovered during a joint operation between the Intelligence Department and the Frontier Corps in the difficult mountains of Mashkil, a remote area located 530 km from Quetta in Balochistan. According to the spokesman, about 3700 kg of the seized opium was burnt on the spot due to the difficulties in transporting the drug from the difficult area and the absence of required resources.

The recent operation by ANF against drug trafficking is the biggest operation of this year so far. The recovered drugs were stored in a secret place called Gurendra Nala in the rugged mountains. During the operation, the accused, who were guarding the drug cache, managed to escape from the spot by taking advantage of the hilly terrain after retreating as a result of the exchange of fire with the ANF and FC for about half an hour.

According to the spokesperson of the Anti-Narcotics Force, the presence of modern operational means, including the facility of vehicles and helicopters, is very important to achieve the desired results during the above-mentioned comprehensive operation. Following the recent action, a case has been registered under the Anti-Narcotics Act and further investigation is underway.
