The Pakistani remake of the 1972 blockbuster film ‘Pakeeza’ has been confirmed.
Producer Hamid Hussain, under the agency based in Abu Dhabi, said that actress Mahira Khan will play the lead role in the said blockbuster remake, while the names of many famous artists are also being considered.
The film Pakeeza was one of the most expensive films of the 70s, which took 14 years to make and cost Rs 1.25 crore at that time.
A month after the blockbuster film, its lead actress Meena Kumari passed away, making the film even more popular.
It may be recalled that earlier Hamid Hussain had confirmed the casting of Sajal Ali as the lead in the series based on Mirza Hadi Raswa’s 1899 novel Amrao Jaan Ada.
