The federal government challenged the decision of the single bench to make the details of Tosha Khana public in the Lahore High Court.
The federal government filed an appeal through the Additional Attorney General.
A bench comprising Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan and Justice Raza Qureshi will hear the government’s appeal.
It should be noted that the single bench of Lahore High Court had ordered to make the details of Tosha Khana public from 1990 to 2001.
In a written judgment issued on March 23, the court had asked the government to make the Tosha Khana records public within 7 days of the certified copy of the court order.
In the decision, it was said that the government should also make public the names of those who gave gifts from 1990 to 23 March 2023 within 7 days.
Justice Asim Hafeez said that the ownership of the gifts is with the government, the gifts are with the government until the method of taking them is adopted.
