The US Navy has sent a submarine equipped with nuclear missiles to Middle Eastern waters to support its fifth fleet based in Bahrain.
Commander Timothy Hawkins says the USS Florida entered the region Thursday and also rounded the Suez Strait.
The submarine is equipped with 154 Tomahawk cruise missiles and is deployed in the US Navy’s 5th Fleet to ensure regional maritime security.
It should be noted that last month the US also announced to provide submarines to Australia.
