Karachi: It has been decided to shift both the elephants of the zoo to the safari park. A team of Fourpaz International Vet Doctors visited the Safari Park to assess the environment and facilities for Hathni Noorjahan and expressed their satisfaction with the facilities there.

According to the details, the zoo’s sick elephant Noor Jahan was examined by foreign vet doctors on the third day and mud mounds were also delivered to his cage so that the elephant could lean on the mounds and rest.

Earlier, there was no soil in the place where Noor Jahan was kept. Tires have also been placed in the cage so that the elephant can play, water has been arranged in the pool to help the partially disabled elephant to walk.

Hathani Noorjahan is doing better than before, the swelling has reduced, she is taking food and trying to walk.

Earlier, a team of the international organization Four Paws visited the Karachi Safari Park in connection with the transfer of the sick elephant from the zoo. On this occasion, the team members were briefed on the arrangements by the staff of the Safari Park. Director Safari Park Kanwar Ayub and zoo officials also accompanied the team.

The Four Paws team inspected the land allocated for elephants. On this occasion, Dr. Amir Khalil, the head of Four Paws International Team, said that the environment is not good for the elephant Noor Jahan in Karachi Zoo.

Vet Dr. Aamir said that Noor Jahan needs full attention for a month, if care is not taken as per the instructions, there is a risk of the elephant’s condition deteriorating again.

Director Safari Park Kanwar Ayub said in a media talk that earlier it was proposed to bring elephants from the zoo to the Safari Park. They say that as soon as Noorjahan’s health improves, they will bring him to the safari park, the safari park has the best and peaceful environment.

According to the proposals of Team Fourpaz, elephant medical care will continue, up to one acre of land is enough for one elephant. He said that we have one and a half acres of land and are building another three and a half acres so that the elephants don’t get disturbed.

The Fourpaz International team also described the condition of Sonia and Malika, the elephants of the safari park, as satisfactory.
