Islamabad: The Supreme Court has given an indication to form a judicial commission in Arshad Sharif’s murder.
The Supreme Court has issued the written order of the previous hearing of the Arshad Sharif murder case, in which it has been said that if the court is not satisfied with the investigation, a judicial commission will be formed.
It has been said in the Supreme Court’s order that Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, the lawyer of Arshad Sharif’s family, raised an objection to the court proceedings. According to Shaukat Siddiqui, the Supreme Court cannot supervise the JIT investigation. The Supreme Court can monitor and investigate matters related to fundamental rights.
The order states that the Additional Attorney General informed Kenya and the UAE of mutual legal assistance. According to the Additional Attorney General, Kenyon authorities have not yet responded to the mutual legal assistance. Special JIT is given 3 more weeks to investigate from abroad.
The Supreme Court said that since it is a matter of important fundamental rights, the court can form a judicial commission for investigation. More than 5 thousand letters were written to the Supreme Court to investigate the murder of Arshad Sharif. The Supreme Court wants a clean and transparent investigation into Arshad Sharif’s murder.
Further hearing of the case will be held in the month of April.
