A case of a major theft incident at the house of former mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar in Defense Phase 6 on March 9 was registered by the former mayor Karachi in Derakhshan police station on the complaint of the driver. Police have arrested a former police officer, his son and daughter-in-law in the multi-crore theft.
The former mayor of Karachi filed a case against the driver in Derakhshan police station.
The plaintiff in the case says that the former mayor along with his family were at home on the day of the theft. Waseem Akhtar’s mother-in-law reported the theft to the driver.
The plaintiff said that the driver was told that the luggage and domestic servant Dinesh were missing. The police registered a registered case against the domestic worker.
18 bangles of 34 tola gold and two tops were stolen from the bungalow, a diamond set and tops were also stolen while the accused also took Rs 1 lakh in cash from the purse.
The investigation team reached inside Sindh to recover the stolen goods.
Police officials say that the accused had bought the car by selling the stolen gold, they are looking for the car.
Former police officer Attaullah, his son and daughter-in-law involved in the theft have been arrested while further investigation of the incident is going on.
