The Lahore High Court rejected PTI’s request to immediately stop the JIT from working.
A hearing was held in the Lahore High Court on a petition against the formation of a JIT to investigate the police attack in Zaman Park.
The court has asked the Punjab government’s counsel to respond on April 10.
The petitioner’s counsel said that the formation of the JIT is illegal, the IG under whose supervision the JIT will work is also the proposed accused, the government can issue an order for the formation of the JIT, J. IT was not created by the government so it should be abolished.
The public prosecutor argued that we have formed a JIT, which has people from all departments, to investigate the matter transparently.
Fawad Chaudhry said that the court should stop the JIT from working.
Justice Tariq Saleem while giving remarks said that right now we are only asking for comments from the public prosecutor, not giving an injunction.
Fawad Chaudhry said that if the JIT is not stopped from working, it will be an outlier.
Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh said that right now we are only asking for a report.
Fawad Chaudhry said that 15 cases of terrorism were filed against Imran Khan in one day.
The court said that there is also a question before the court that if not the police, who will conduct the investigation.
Justice Farooq Haider while giving remarks said that the court has also to see whether the approval of the cabinet for the formation of JIT or not.
The Lahore High Court adjourned the hearing of the case till Monday.
Fawad Chaudhry has challenged JIT in Lahore High Court
In a statement, Fawad Chaudhry has said that the JIT has been challenged in the Lahore High Court.
He said that the main culprit of the Zul Shah murder case will be investigated. Who did the murder? We are being asked to appear in the JIT of CCPO Lahore.
Fawad Chaudhry says that the same scenes that happened in the Al-Aqsa Mosque today were on the streets of Lahore.
It should be noted that the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has summoned Imran Khan and other leaders again today to investigate the cases of riots and violence.
Sources have said that other leaders including Fawad Chaudhry, Hammad Azhar, Ijaz Chaudhry, Musrat Jamshed, Farrukh Habib, Mian Mahmood Al Rashid, Mian Aslam Iqbal and Dr. Yasmin Rashid have been summoned for the second time.
