Cambridge: A new study has reported that Jinn Children who are disciplined by their parents are more likely to suffer from long-term mental health problems in the future.
In a study published in the journal Epidemiology and Psychiatry, researchers studied 7,500 children between the ages of 3 and 9. About 10 percent of these children were at severe risk of worsening mental health symptoms in subsequent years. And children whose parents used harsh discipline (yelling or corporal punishment) were up to 50 percent more likely to be in that 10 percent of children than their peers.
According to the researchers, led by Ioannis Katsantonis of the University of Cambridge, the results of the study highlight a very important fact, and that is that some parents need to learn better strategies for controlling young children.
The research found that stable parenting had positive effects on the child’s mental health. Ioannis Katsantonis said this may be because a stable parenting style provides children with a sense of expectation and a sense of worry that can protect against worsening mental health.
