Karachi: Customs foiled an attempt to transfer crores worth of smuggled foreign goods from Quetta to Karachi in an anti-smuggling operation.
Deputy Director Customs Intelligence Inam Wazir told Express that smuggled items were recovered in raids on 3 passenger buses coming from Quetta to Karachi.
According to Inam Wazir, an attempt was being made to transport foreign cloth, air conditioner, gutka, unhealthy skin, foreign cigarettes, washing powder and other miscellaneous items to Karachi through these buses.
He said that the value of the smuggled goods is 7 crore 70 lakh rupees. The Directorate has registered a case and arrested 3 persons and seized the three buses and equipment used in smuggling.
