According to Indian media, Rahul Gandhi will channel the court decision in Gujarat court today.
Rahul Gandhi will appear in the court of Surat and file an appeal against the decision.
Rahul Gandhi will also plead for an interim stay on the two-year sentence, accompanied by Priyanka Gandhi, chief ministers of three states.
BJP termed Rahul Gandhi’s filing of appeal as a drama.
According to the Law Minister, Rahul Gandhi is trying to put pressure on the court by going with the party leaders.
On the other hand, according to the Congress, Rahul Gandhi is going with the party leaders for moral support, which is not intended to put pressure on the judiciary.
It should be noted that the Indian court had declared Rahul Gandhi guilty in the defamation case in the past days, the Indian Parliament had disqualified the opposition leader Rahul Gandhi after the court decision.
The court sentenced Rahul Gandhi to two years in prison and granted him a 30-day bail.
The Congress leader had made a statement regarding the Modi surname during an election rally in 2019.
