Kiev: Ukraine has claimed that 262 athletes have been killed so far in the attacks carried out by Russia.
According to the report of the foreign news agency, the sports minister of Ukraine has claimed that 262 of our athletes were killed in the Russian attacks while 363 sports fields were destroyed.
The president of the International Federation of Gymnastics visited Ukraine where the sports minister requested that no Russian athletes be allowed to participate in the Olympics or other sports events, as Russian athletes are pro-war.
The International Olympic Committee has recommended the return of Russian and Belarusian athletes to international competitions as neutrals, but their participation in the Paris Olympics in 2024 has not been decided yet.
Ukraine says that if our athletes have to compete with Russian athletes in the qualifying events, we will not participate in the competitions.
The war between Russia and Ukraine started in February 2022 and is still ongoing. Many Ukrainian players took up arms to defend their homeland.
