Fawad Chaudhry once again came to the field against journalists


Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Fawad Chaudhry once again came to the fray against journalists.

Fawad Chaudhry said in a message on social media that journalists are running a paid campaign against judges, we are making lists, we will boycott these journalists.

According to Reporters Without Borders’ global index of freedom of press, Pakistan was ranked 139th in the list of 180 countries in 2018, which dropped six ranks to 145th in 2019 and 2020. In the Global Journalism Index, it fell by 12 places to 157th place.

Not only this, international journalistic organizations such as Reporters Without Borders, CPJ, IFJ, Amnesty International and HRCP repeatedly issued condemnation statements during this period. While Fawad Chaudhry continued to try to bring the controversial Pakistan Media Development Authority Bill, on which he faced strong opposition from journalist organizations.

Now once again journalist Fawad Chaudhry is targeted, on March 26, 2023, Fawad Chaudhry tweeted a demand for the arrest of two journalists and now claims that he is making lists of critical journalists to boycott them.

Fawad Chaudhry alleged that journalists are running a paid campaign against the judges, while Fawad Chaudhry has made many statements of campaigning and threatening the judges in the past and present.

When the reference against Justice Qazi Faiz Isa ended, Fawad Chaudhry says that he was against this reference.

But it should be remembered that Fawad Chaudhry had issued a statement against Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, on which Justice Qazi Faiz Isa’s wife Serena Isa had requested contempt of court against him, but no action was taken.

It should be remembered that Fawad Chaudhry was the spokesperson of General Pervez Musharraf before joining PTI, then he joined People’s Party, later he is part of QL and now PTI. Before joining PTI, Fawad Chaudhry used to criticize PTI in this way.
