Rawalpindi: It has been snowing in Malika Kohsar Murree for the past 12 hours and till now 8 and a half inches of snow has fallen.
According to the Meteorological Department, more snowfall is expected in Murree in the next 6 hours.
During the snowfall, a tall tree fell on the road due to which the traffic was stopped. Murree administration and local people are trying to cut down the tree and remove it.
On the other hand, Traffic Police Murree has issued a traffic advisory for tourists visiting Murree during snowfall.
DSP Traffic Murree Irfan Haider has instructed to start the journey by getting aware of the weather conditions before going to Murree, tourists coming to Murree during snowfall should choose a mechanically sound vehicle and due to negative temperature, the vehicle should not be used. Use anti-cooling fluid.
They say that during snowfall, keep the fuel tank of your car full, tourists must keep warm clothes and dry fruits with them, use chains on the tires of the car during snowfall, and in case of using the heater in the car, complete the car windows. Do not close automatically. Never make a double line during snowfall.
According to DSP, avoid taking selfies while standing on the road in Murree during snowfall, keep the vehicle speed low and avoid overtaking. Follow the traffic advisory for a safe and smooth journey.
