Damascus: An officer of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard was killed in an Israeli attack in Syria.
According to Iranian media reports, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) announced the martyrdom of military advisor and officer Milad Heydari.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the latest attack is the sixth Israeli airstrike in Syria this month and the second near Damascus in two days.
Israel remained silent on the attack and there was no immediate statement.
The IRGC vowed to retaliate against Israeli aggression and said the early morning criminal attack on the outskirts of Damascus would be retaliated against.
It should be noted that Israel has been attacking Iran-linked targets in Syria for years. On the other hand, Tehran’s influence in Syria has grown significantly since it supported President Bashar al-Assad in the Syrian civil war that began in 2011.
