During an operation in Azizabad area of Karachi in the Commercial Banking Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency FIA, 2 suspects of the reference handi network were arrested and a huge amount of domestic and foreign currency was recovered.
According to FIA spokesperson, the team arrested 2 suspects in the operation on the instructions of Deputy Director Commercial Banking Circle Karachi Rabia Qureshi. The accused were involved in buying and selling foreign currency without license.
According to the spokesman, 45 thousand 600 US dollars, 7 lakh 95 thousand rupees and receipts related to handi reference were also recovered from the possession of the accused.
The spokesman said that among the arrested suspects are Umair Khalid and Sikandar Ali. The accused were arrested from Alibhai Society Azizabad.
Several messages related to handi reference and illegal currency exchange were also recovered from the mobile phones of the arrested accused. A case has been registered against the accused while further investigation is going on.
