Manila: 31 people died in a boat fire in the Philippines.

According to foreign media, a boat caught fire late at night in the southern region of the Philippines, as a result of which 31 people, including 3 children, were killed and 7 were missing. There were 250 passengers on the boat.

After the fire, many people jumped from the boat. Coast Guard boats present at the spot rescued 212 people. 23 people were injured in the incident. The boat was sailing from Sulu province to Jolo town where it caught fire near Basilan Island. An investigation is underway to find out the cause of the boat fire.
