A petition was filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan for simultaneous elections across the country.
The citizen of Tallaght has also requested in his petition to postpone the elections of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa until the general elections.
On behalf of the above-mentioned citizen, the position has been taken that according to the constitution, the people can choose their real representatives only through simultaneous elections across the country.
The petitioner has taken the stand that the 2 provinces will incur more expenses before and after the elections to the National Assembly.
The petitioner has requested that the caretaker governments of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should be extended for one time till the general elections.
The petitioner says that by holding the first elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the system of caretaker governments will also be affected in the general elections across the country.
The Federation, President, Election Commission and both provinces have been made parties in the petition.
