A US State Department spokesperson has confirmed that the US official visited China last week.
According to a foreign news agency, two months ago, US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken suddenly canceled his visit to China.
The spokesperson said that State Department head China House Rick Waters visited Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
Rick Waters met with Chinese counterparts and American employees stationed in China, he said.
According to media reports, the spokesperson of the Department of Foreign Affairs did not comment on the outcome of the talks.
It should be noted that Antony Blanken’s February visit was canceled after the arrival of Chinese balloons in the US airspace.
