Karachi: While bathing in the Hub River, 3 youths of Etihad Town drowned and their bodies were handed over to the heirs after legal proceedings.
According to the Edhi Foundation, 15-year-old Nadeem Meraj, 20-year-old Wajid Mehnajuddin and 14-year-old Saadullah Hab, residents of Baldia Town Itteh Town, drowned while saving each other while bathing in the river.
Hearing their screams, others present immediately informed the rescue team, after which Edhi Foundation divers reached the spot and started searching for them.
Meanwhile, the body of 15-year-old Nadeem was found, while the operation continued to search for the other 2 youths, and finally the bodies of Wajid Minhajuddin and Saadullah were also removed from the river after a tough struggle.
According to Edhi officials, the bodies were taken to Hub Civil Hospital for post-mortem. The rescue officials say that the three friends who drowned in the river were residents of Baldia Etihad Town, whose bodies were handed over to the heirs after legal proceedings.
Meanwhile, a young girl died after falling into the underground water tank of her house near Manghopir Naia Nazimabad, whose body was brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy, where the deceased was identified as 6-year-old Hina. The heirs took the body with them without any action.
According to the rescue officials, the incident is being said to be accidental, the girl was playing at home when she woke up in the underground water tank which had no cover.
