Karachi: The ASI was killed by the accused on Jacob Line New Priddy Street in Shahr Quaid area while the SHO was miraculously unharmed.
According to DIG East Muqadas Haider, SHO Brigadier Khalid Rafiq and ASI Iqbal Ali Mohammad were patrolling on a motorcycle on Jacob Line New Priddy Street when they suddenly collided with the accused. Both officers tried to catch the accused. On which the accused opened fire indiscriminately.
ASI Muhammad Iqbal was martyred on the spot due to the firing of the accused while the motorcyclists escaped while firing.
DIG East further said that 4 bullets hit the deceased on the chest due to which he died. The deceased was posted in the investigation department of Brigade police station. CC footage is being obtained from the crime scene to trace the accused. . Holy Haider said that the accused will be traced as soon as possible.
The body of the deceased was taken to Jinnah Hospital, after legal proceedings and post-mortem, the body was handed over to the heirs.
