NATO has described Russia’s nuclear rhetoric as dangerous and irresponsible.
Speaking to the American media, NATO spokesperson Ovana Longescu said that Russia’s announcement to transfer nuclear weapons to Belarus is dangerous and irresponsible.
He said that NATO is alert and we are keeping a close eye on the whole situation, currently there is no change in Russia’s nuclear posture.
Ovana Longescu said NATO allies respect their international commitments, but Russia has consistently broken its arms control commitments.
A NATO spokesman said that as Russia recently suspended its participation in the New START agreement, Russia should return to compliance and act in good faith.
