Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Azam Khan has written a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif regarding the financial problems of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO).
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Azam Khan has told Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in a letter that Pesco is facing a loss of 200 billion rupees annually.
The letter requested that since PESCO is suffering from severe financial difficulties, a committee of ministers should be set up on the transfer of power supply companies to the provinces.
It is written in the letter that the federation wants to hand over Pesco to the province, while the provincial government is not ready to take over the management of Pesco in the current situation.
The letter states that the annual deficit of 200 billion rupees and arrears of 30 billion rupees are not being met.
Expressing concern in the letter, it is written that transfer of Pesco will increase the problems of the province, if Pesco is to be handed over to the province then the power houses and their income should also be given to the province.
