Attorney General Pakistan Barrister Shahzad Elahi resigned from his post yesterday.
Attorney General Barrister Shehzad Elahi sent his resignation to President Dr. Arif Alvi on March 24.
According to the text of the resignation, I cannot perform the duties due to personal reasons. It is a matter of honor for me to perform the duties as the 37th Attorney General of the country.
Attorney General Shahzad Elahi said that the President of Pakistan is requested to accept my resignation immediately.
In a statement, Barrister Shehzad Elahi has said that it is completely wrong that I was asked to resign, and when the top officials of the government were informed about this, they said not to send the resignation to the President yet.
Shahzad Elahi says that on this I handed over my original resignation to the senior minister of the government.
He said that he did this so that the government can send my resignation to the president whenever it wants according to its convenience.
