A diet rich in nuts and seeds has positive effects on cardiovascular health

Oslo: A new study finds that daily consumption of nuts and seeds may have beneficial effects on heart health.

A team of scientists from the University of Oslo and the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm reviewed 60 studies involving 1.9 million people. The review found that eating about 30 grams of nuts and seeds per day is associated with a reduction in cholesterol and heart disease. While the risk of heart attack or stroke or the risk of dying from them was also reduced by a quarter.

The reason the researchers reviewed these studies was to determine whether there was an association between nut and seed consumption and cardiovascular disease, coronary heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes. .

The results of the study, published in the journal Food and Nutrition, revealed that people who ate a diet high in seeds and nuts (up to about 30 grams) had better cardio than those who did not eat these foods. Vascular diseases were 19% less likely to develop and 23% less likely to die from these diseases.

While the chances of these people suffering from cardiovascular disease are 18 percent less, while the chances of dying from this disease are 25 percent less.
