Ireland: Although stress has become a part of our mood and environment, true gratitude without any medication can reduce severe stress.
According to the researchers, even if a person is suffering from acute psychological stress, the feeling of gratitude protects him from the condition. Since the mind is the center of the body, depression and stress affect the entire body. This then increases the risk of developing high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease. That’s why experts emphasize stress buffers.
Brian Levy of the University of Maynooth and his colleagues have said that although there has been a lot of research on the relationship between diabetes and depression, there has been little research actually on psychological stress and recovery from cardiovascular disease.
A small group has been researched in this context but its importance cannot be ignored. The scientists recruited 68 people aged 18 to 57, including 24 men and 44 women. For this, a simulated environment was created in the laboratory.
Under the design, certain tasks were performed in the laboratory that induced stress, and the participants’ heart response and recovery were then noted. Thus the experiment was carried out with the whole arrangement.
The study noted that people who underwent stress but kept the sugar low still had normal blood pressure. It was also found that gratitude was a barrier to cardiovascular response and recovery in the face of acute psychological stress.
Gratitude is a powerful quality that saves us from many problems. According to research conducted in 2010, small sugar processes improve our health. Similarly, in 2016, when heart disease sufferers were asked to write a gratitude diary, their condition improved and they recovered faster.
