Monis Alvi, CEO of K Electric, says that the kanda culture has been reduced in Karachi, in 5 years, the kandas of electricity theft have been brought from 5, 6 lakh to 30, 40 thousand.
Monis Alvi, CEO of K Electric in Islamabad attended the Breakfast with Jang and also addressed the event.
He says that working in Karachi is both difficult and easy, the impression of buying cheap electricity from NTDC and selling it expensive is not correct, K Electric’s recovery rate is 96 percent.
CEO of K Electric Monis Alvi said that efforts are on to take K Electric forward, Karachi has a large share in the economy.
He said that Karachi consists of 42% slum population, electricity is the right of the consumer, we are not doing any favours, we have doubled the customer base.
Monis Alvi said that K Electric has submitted an investment plan of 484 billion rupees to Nepra, reducing the company’s transmission and distribution losses from 38 percent to 15.3 percent.
He has further said that for the next 5 years, the production of electricity from local sources will be taken up to 40%, and the production of electricity from imported expensive fuel will be reduced by 50%.
CEO K Electric also says that K Electric’s own production is 2400 MW, our peak demand goes up to 4000 MW.
