It is not necessary to give details of children in nomination papers, Islamabad High Court

Islamabad: The petitioner in Imran Khan’s disqualification case for concealing his alleged daughter Terian Jade White in the nomination papers has completed arguments on the admissibility of the application.

A three-member larger bench of the Islamabad High Court headed by Chief Justice Amir Farooq heard the Imran Khan disqualification case. The Chief Justice said that in the nomination papers, the details of the dependents are to be given, not of the children. Even if you accept Imran Khan Teriyan as a daughter, your request has to be considered legally.

Petitioner’s lawyer Hamid Ali Shah said in his arguments that Imran Khan in his affidavit along with the nomination papers mentioned Bushra Bibi as his wife and children living with his ex-wife. It also said that Sulaiman and Qasim are living with their mother in the UK and are not dependent on them. The son is certainly not a dependent of Imran Khan, but the daughter is a dependent because she is unmarried. Giving the name of two children and not telling the name of one also comes under malice.

The Chief Justice said that even if he accepts the daughter, legally your application will not be approved. The legal requirements of the affidavit must also be seen. The word dependent is used here, not children. Can some children be dependent and some not dependent?

Salman Akram Raja said that Imran Khan’s children were dependents before, not now, usually the names of those who are not dependent are not told.

The petitioner’s lawyer said that if Imran Khan wrote 2 names, there should have been a third one which was not written. If someone is accused, he should deny the allegations.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani said that you are saying that Imran Khan should put the burden on himself at any cost. The hearing of the case was adjourned till March 29 after the arguments of the petitioner’s counsel were completed.
