Karachi: Russian Consulate Consul for Political and Economic Affairs Dmitri Petrov has said that Pakistan can get out of the economic crisis with the help of Russia.
Addressing a meeting organized on the occasion of the visit of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Russian Consulate Consul for Political and Economic Affairs Dmitry Petrov has said that there are immense opportunities for trade between Pakistan and Russia. Banking channel and other issues are being resolved in the promotion of bilateral trade.
He said that the price of pharmaceutical products and medicines in Pakistan is low and the quality is of international level. Medicines that are cheaply available here are very expensive in Russia.
Dmitri Petrov said that if Kati sends his written proposals to the Russian Consulate, immediate action will be taken on them. Bilateral trade is possible in local currency, barter trade can also be promoted. An agreement has been signed for the supply of gas and petrol from Pakistan, which will be implemented soon.
Earlier, Kati President Farazur Rehman said that there are friendly relations between Russia and Pakistan. Banking channel should be started immediately for bilateral trade. Russia has helped Pakistan on several occasions. In the past, Russia helped Pakistan to set up steel mills, unfortunately the steel mills became an eye of politics.
He said that Pakistan can get out of the economic crisis with the help of Russia. Trade of gas and petroleum products from Russia can be started immediately. Apart from this, trading of raw materials and machinery is possible.
Deputy Chairman of Kati’s Standing Committee, Muslim Mohammadi, said that trading of raw materials and commodities is possible. He said that after Ramadan, Kati’s trade delegation plans to visit Russia to find opportunities for trade promotion.
