There has been a development in the case of the death of a leopard in Margalla Hills Shahdara area in Islamabad.
Islamabad Wildlife Board applied to register a case of leopard death in Bhara Kahu police station.
According to the Wildlife Board, which applied for the registration case, the leopard was found dead in the Shahdara area on the night of March 19.
The application said that on March 20, the teams arrived and shifted the body of the leopard to the rescue center.
The Wildlife Board’s application further stated that according to the X-ray report, the leopard was killed by 11 bullets.
In the petition, it was said that the accused had cut off the jaws, legs and tail of the leopard and took it with them, a case of killing of the leopard should be registered under the Wildlife Ordinance.
Chairperson Wildlife Management Board Rana Saeed has said that Shahdara area is located at the corner of Margalla Hills with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, check post is being established in the area with the support of CDA to prevent illegal hunting.
