President Dr. Arif Alvi has said in a statement regarding the World Oral Health Day that 95% of diseases can be prevented by cleaning the mouth.
In a video message released on the social networking site Twitter, Dr. Arif Alvi said that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) used to clean his mouth and teeth frequently.
The President of the State said that in Islam, purity or cleanliness has been declared as half of faith, Sahih Bukhari mentions mouth cleaning and miswak in about 21 hadiths.
Dr. Arif Alvi says to clean the teeth thoroughly twice a day with a toothbrush or brush.
He said that betel nuts and blisters cause mouth cancer, avoid them.
