Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Taimur Saleem Jhagra has said that not holding elections despite Supreme Court orders is contempt of court.
In a message, Taimur Saleem Jhagra said that 61 days have passed since the dissolution of the provincial assembly, the government is delaying holding elections.
He further said that conducting elections is a constitutional obligation, elections cannot be postponed on pretexts or at the whim of anyone.
The PTI provincial leader also said that floods, law and order, lack of funds cannot be used as an excuse for delaying the elections.
He said that non-implementation of the constitution can harm the country and democracy.
