British universities echo Modi government's atrocities in Kashmir

London: Amnesty International has expressed serious concern over the ongoing serious human rights violations in Kashmir.

According to the report, a seminar on the ongoing human rights violations in Kashmir was held at the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom under the auspices of Amnesty International.

In the seminar, 7 British organizations including London School of Economics and University of East Anglia strongly condemned India’s Modi government’s atrocities in Kashmir and crackdown on press freedom.

Speaking at the seminar, India Amnesty International Coordinator Cheri Bird said that extra-dalit killings, enforced disappearances and Jatha-e-Insaf expose the ugly face of Modi’s so-called democracy in India.

He said that the use of pellet gun to suppress the freedom movement in Kashmir is the worst example of oppression and tyranny, Modi has strangled Indian journalism and pushed it towards dictatorship.

The participants said that India wants to divert attention from Kashmir by supporting terrorists in Pakistan’s Balochistan province as well.

President of Amnesty International East Anglia University Syed Muhammad Hamza while addressing the participants said that the Kashmir issue is as serious as the Ukraine and Palestinian conflict, the international community should play its full role in solving the Kashmir issue in South Asia.
