Railway Police and Railway Special Branch recovered fake currency worth 19 lakh rupees from the shoes of three passengers at Peshawar Cantt Station and later arrested a currency dealer in the raid.
According to Express News, SHO Jamal Abdul Nasir along with his team and Special Branch searched the accused on platform number one of Peshawar Cantt Station. During the search, fake Pakistani currency of 19 lakh 51 thousand was found hidden inside the shoes of the accused, which was seized immediately.
The three accused entered the Rehman Baba train at platform number one from the main gate with the intention of traveling from Peshawar to Karachi. Among the accused are Aamir Siddique, Mehmood Khan and Wali Khan who belong to Karachi, Pashin and Quetta.
Fake currency worth 10 lakh 66 thousand rupees, 5 lakh 64 thousand rupees from Mahmood Khan and 3 lakh 21 thousand rupees from the shoes of Wali Khan were recovered from the shoes of accused Aamir Siddique.
During the initial investigation, on the identification of the accused Mehmood Khan, the fake currency dealer Mazhar Shah Karkhano, Phatak Khyber Agency, was arrested after hard work, along with the fake Pakistani currency of one lakh rupees.
Cases have been registered against the four accused and investigation has been started. A total amount of 20 lakh 51 thousand rupees of fake Pakistani currency recovered from the four accused has been confiscated. Fake currency includes 500, 1000 and 5000 notes.

It should be noted that under the direction of IG Railways Dr. Rao Sardar Ali Khan, the Railways Police is active against the criminal elements on railway boundaries, trains and platforms and in this regard nationwide operations have also been intensified.
