Wellington: Members of Parliament in New Zealand have been banned from using TikTok.

According to foreign media, New Zealand parliamentarians will not be able to use the social media application TikTok on official devices. Officials say that the ban on Tik Tok has been imposed due to security concerns.

New Zealand Parliamentary Service Chief Executive Rafael González Montero has said that taking risks is not acceptable in the current parliamentary environment. The ban on Tik Tok will start from March 31.

Previously, the governments of Canada, Australia, United Kingdom and the United States have also banned the use of official devices PertTalk. Tik Tok is owned by a Chinese company.
