PTI's petition dismissed, Jamaat-e-Islami declared winner in Liaquatabad's UC-4


The results of local body elections held in Karachi on January 15 are still ongoing, the Election Commission has ordered to release the result of UC 4 of Ibn Sina Town of Liaquatabad.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had filed a petition against the victory of Jamaat-e-Islami in UC-4 of Ibn Sina Town of Liaquatabad.

The Election Commission rejected the PTI’s petition against the victory of Jamaat-e-Islami and withdrew the injunction on the release of the results.

The order said that the petitioners can approach the Election Tribunal if they wish.

According to the Returning Officer (RO), Jamaat-e-Islami got 1818 votes while PTI got 1260 votes. According to the RO, PTI submitted 11 tempered forms to the commission.
