Lilongwe / Maputo: The death toll in the African countries of Malawi and Mozambique in the southern hemisphere’s most powerful hurricane “Freddie” has risen to 136.
According to the World News Agency, the most powerful hurricane in the history of Malawi and Mozambique, Freddie destroyed everything in its path. Trees were uprooted, poles and hoardings fell on roads and roofs were blown off houses.
Several crude houses also collapsed and dozens of people were buried under the debris. Along with the hurricane, the non-stop rains also started which turned into floods.
The series of finding dead bodies during the rescue operations is still going on. 99 died in Malawi while 37 died in Mozambique. The total number of injured in both countries has reached close to a thousand.
A state of emergency has been imposed in the affected areas of Mozambique and Malawi. Relief camps have been set up by international organizations for the homeless and flood victims.
Experts say that due to climate change and climate change, the world is facing unexpected and more than usual rains, floods and storms. The biggest threat to humanity is not from nuclear wars, but from climate change.
